Setting up a Blog - Introduction

A one-day introductory course for anyone who wants to set up a web log known as a blog. Participants will compare and contrast some popular blogs and use this to assess what kind of blog they want to create. The different features and capabilities of free blogging sites will be considered.

Who should attend

Anyone who wants to set up a blog, especially those with limited knowledge of the Internet and who prefer face-to-face guidance.

Qualifications

Participants should have basic computer skills and the ability to communicate with enthusiasm and clarity. Macs are used for the course, but participants who use Windows should have no problems.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will be able:
To make an informed choice as to which of the most popular free blogging sites they prefer to use.
To set up a blog using the available templates.
To refine and format available templates with simple modifications.
To publish posts and upload other media to a blog.
To check the blog using different browsers.
