Radio News Presentation

A comprehensive hands-on course designed to develop the skills and techniques essential to successful radio news production, reporting and presentation. There will be professional assessment of individual performances with coaching and guidance. Practical exercises involving teamwork and role plays will focus on scripting, interviewing, storytelling, voicework and newsreading. Sessions will be recorded and timed to simulate the pressures of radio news and followed by playback and full analysis.

Who should attend

Experienced print journalists considering a switch to radio or journalists new to broadcasting who are seeking to develop their skills.

Qualifications

Preferably several years experience working as a full time journalist, enthusiasm and a clear speaking voice.

Expected Learning Outcomes

A grasp of the essential skills and techniques involved in radio news production and presentation. An appreciation of the pressures and constraints of radio news and the confidence and ability to cope with them.
